Baby Bomber Recap 7/11/16: Yefrey Ramirez strikes out nine in Tampa Yankees win

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders: All-Star break

Double-A Trenton Thunder: All-Star break

High-A Tampa Yankees: L 3-5 vs. Jupiter Hammerheads

The Yankees fell behind after the offense failed to break out against Jupiter pitching. Abiatal Avelino and Kevin Cornelius had a hit and an RBI each, while Zack Zehner singled and doubled and Mason Williams had a single and a triple. Otherwise, Trey Amburgey and Francisco Diaz had two hits apiece, and Devyn Bolasky and Vicente Conde had hits of their own.

On the mound, Yefrey Ramirez pitched an impressive six innings, striking out nine hitters and allowing one earned run over four hits and a walk. Willie Gabay surrendered three runs on a hit and three walks over 0.2 innings, and Dillon McNamara threw another 1.1 innings of one-hit ball.

Low-A Charleston RiverDogs: Off

Short Season-A Staten Island Yankees: W 2-1 vs. Lowell Spinners

Staten Island just narrowly beat the Spinners as Dom Thompson-Williams knocked in a run on a single. Kane Sweeney collected two hits and Ricardo Ferreira drew two walks. Charles Vasquez also doubled, and both Dalton Blaser and Nick Solak singled as well. As for the pitching, Simon De la Rosa struck out five and allowed only a hit and two walks in five innings. Josh Roeder gave up two hits while striking out five in three frames, and David Palladino allowed a run on a hit and two walks over one inning of work.

Rookie Advanced Pulaski Yankees: L 5-8 vs. Burlington Royals

Pulaski came up short after the team struggled against Burlington. The offense received a boost from Dermis Garcia, who hit a two-run home run and a double while also drawing two walks. Leonardo Molina doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Brian Reyes walked twice and doubled, too. Estevan Florial and Ben Ruta had a hit and a walk each, and Josh Gardiner stole a base in addition to walking twice.

Chad Martin allowed four unearned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings. Icezack Flemming gave up only a hit and a walk in the sixth, but Alex Bisacca was shaky when he entered in the seventh. The Royals scored two runs on two hits and a walk with Bisacca pitching. Philip Diehl continued to struggle with two earned runs on three hits while striking out three in another inning, though Tyler Honahan finished out with a walk and a strikeout in one inning.
