Around the Empire: Yankees news - 6/29/16

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN | Andrew Marchand: Carlos Beltran was diagnosed with a tight right hamstring Tuesday night after leaving the game in the first inning. The team hopes that he'll only need to miss a day or two, dodging a bullet from what looked like it might be much worse.

New York Post | Howie Kussoy: Members of the Yankees reflected on what it was like to endure the three-hour rain delay Monday night. As you can imagine, none of them were very pleased with the situation. Hopefully they never find themselves playing after 2 in the morning again. | Brendan Kuty: Shortstop Jorge Mateo and catcher Gary Sanchez will represent the Yankees at this year's All-Star Futures Game in San Diego. It will be the second straight trip for Sanchez and the first for Mateo. | Brendan Kuty: James Kaprielian is still dealing with soreness in his right elbow. He flew to New York to be seen by Dr. Chris Ahmad, the team physician, on Tuesday. Kaprielian has been on the disabled list since April 26th.
