Around the Empire: Yankees News - 1/10/16

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

It's About the Money | Matt Bove: Coming into the 2015 season, it was difficult to predict how certain Yankees would perform, especially Alex Rodriguez, Nathan Eovaldi, and Didi Gregorius. The same is true for 2016, as many of the Yankee hitters are coming off either career-best or career-worst offensive performances. Health may also be an issue for many of the Yankees, both pitchers and position players.

LoHud | Chad Jennings: A look at the projected Yankee Triple-A team this coming season after the additions of Kirby Yates, Donovan Solano, and Jonathan Diaz. Jennings predicts which RailRiders could join the major league team this season and what role each player will have in 2016.

Baseball Prospectus Bronx | Alex Putterman: An exploration of the best players to don each uniform number that has been used by the Yankees throughout their history. Some choices are easy, but some not so much.

ESPN | Andrew Marchand: ESPN's American League predictions for the upcoming season. Marchand predicts that the Yankees will start off the season well, but falter shortly after and trade away Andrew Miller and Brett Gardner at the trade deadline for prospects in order to try again in 2017.

YES Network | A.J. Herrmann: Can Derek Jeter become the first ever unanimous Hall of Famer? After Griffey broke the record with 99.3% of the vote, it will be interesting to see if Jeter can best that mark due to his success on the field and his charitable inclinations.
