Tanaka will miss his next start; Jagielo is removed from the AFL; Beltran stays healthy; eleven Subway Series fun facts.

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN New York | Wallace Matthews: Masahiro Tanaka suffered a mild hamstring strain running the bases on Friday night, so Joe Girardi will skip his scheduled Wednesday start in Toronto. Ivan Nova will take the ball instead, but both Tanaka and the Yankees feel pretty good about him only missing one start.

LoHud | Chad JenningsEric Jagielo was removed from the Yankees' Arizona Fall League team after the front office determined that his right knee had not shown enough improvement to play. After suffering a lateral meniscus scope at the end of July, it's no surprise the staff would be cautious with him. The last thing they want is even more lost development time.

New York Times | Billy Witz: Even though Girardi has tried his best to rest his veterans, many of them are hobbling to the finish line. Of the banged up veterans, only Carlos Beltran has gone through the second half relatively unscathed.

AM New York: Because it's the Subway Series, the site gives eleven fun facts about a match-up that has existed since 1997.
