Around the Empire: Yankees news - 8/28/15

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Newsday | Eric Bacharach: Although the result from Michael Pineda's first start off the disabled list weren't great, he showed flashes of his first half self that will be very important in September.

ESPN | Andrew Marchand: No one should be panicking about the state of Yankees right now, but the offense is going to have to turn it around soon for it to stay that way.

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: Brian Cashman admitted that the Yankees' slide as of late has him a little concerned, but he thinks that the problem is that the offense is in a slump that they are due to break out of, hopefully starting in Atlanta.

LoHud | Chad Jennings: Aaron Judge won't be among the players called up when rosters expand on September 1st. The big outfielder is scuffling a bit at Triple-A and the Yankees have no reason to add him to the 40-man roster this offseason. Gary Sanchez's injury likely puts what looked like a first time call up for him on hold as well.
