Sports Illustrated | Wire: Mark Teixeira crushed a hard foul off his own leg in Monday night's game and had to depart. He was held out of the lineup yesterday with the diagnosis of a bone bruise, and Brian Cashman doesn't think it will require a DL stint. Nonetheless, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Yankees take it easy with him, especially given his heavy workload this year.

LoHud | Chad Jennings: Yankees veterans paused to talk about rookie Greg Bird and how he's handled himself in his first trip to the majors. They've been nothing but impressed, and Bird said that even if he doesn't start on a particular day, he's determined to learn something new regardless. That's a great perspective.

ESPN NY | Andrew Marchand: After enduring a terrifying line drive to the face on Monday, Bryan Mitchell says that he definitely feels lucky to have only suffered a broken nose. He's on the 7-day concussion DL right now as a precaution, so let's hope those signs don't show up.

LoHud | Chad Jennings: Alex Rodriguez crushed his 25th career grand slam on Tuesday, and he was quite glad to break out of his slump in such an important manner, noting "I've been stinking up the joint here for about three weeks now. That one felt good."

SB Nation | Ricky O'Donnell: The Yankees' Twitter account tweeted a picture of A-Rod with the hashtag #BAEROD after the slam, and it was amazingly ridiculous.
