Josh Rogers signs; Cashman praises Judge; Tanaka to lead the rotation; Warren on being in the bullpen; Gardner is a bargain.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Courier Journal | Jeff Greer: After many thought he would go to the University of Louisville, 11th rounder Josh Rogers will actually sign with the Yankees at an above-slot value deal, probably at around $500,000. | Brendan Kuty: Brian Cashman is not quick to set Aaron Judge's expectations at the level of Giancarlo Stanton or Dave Winfield, but he does affirm that he has lived up to his tool package, and teammates have praised him for his makeup and leadership.

ESPN | Wallace Matthews: After the All-Star break the rotation will get a fresh start, and Masahiro Tanaka will lead that rotation as the de facto ace. He will be followed by Michael Pineda, CC Sabathia, Nathan Eovaldi, and Ivan Nova in that order, and Joe Girardi hopes that each starter will stay on normal rest for the near future.

FanGraphs | David Laurila: Adam Warren has been moved to the bullpen, but he is intent on being a starter long-term. Joe Girardi is definitely happy that this will cap his innings, but Warren was initially frustrated that he lost the job.

Forbes | Josh Benjamin: Brett Gardner is an All-Star, and he is a bargain due to his team-friendly contract. Considering the state of long-term deals, it is nice knowing the Yankees will have Gardner on the cheap for the next few years.
