What we learned from Nova's debut, plus all the other Yankee headlines!

Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN New York | Wallace Matthews: Andrew Miller threw for the first time since hitting the DL with a forearm strain, and while he didn't get any worse, it doesn't sound like he's really getting a whole lot better, either.

New York Daily News | Daniel Popper: Maikel Franco, newest #YankeeKiller, was almost a Yankee.  They wouldn't increase their signing bonus for him, so he just signed with the Phillies for $5,000 more than the Yankees were willing to offer.

LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: Looking back at Ivan Nova's first start since Tommy John surgery.  He just seems so, so excited to be back.  You can't help but be happy for the kid.

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: Four takeaways from Nova's first start back in the Bronx, including how impressive his teammates (including Alex Rodriguez) thought he was.

New York Daily News | Daniel Popper: The Yankees have yet to rule out a trade for the Phillies' Cole Hamels, says an inside source, although the price would be quite steep.  The Yankees are, of course, one of the few teams not on Hamels no-trade list, meaning they could acquire him without getting his approval.
