Around the Empire: Yankees News - 3/17/15

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

LoHud | Chad Jennings: Ten impressions from spring training after two full weeks. Masahiro Tanaka has been good so far, Alex Rodriguez hasn't been bad so far, Jose Pirela has hit well but the team would still prefer Brendan Ryan's glove, and Greg Bird has done well enough that he can't be ignored.

New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: There were plenty of questions for the Yankees coming into spring training, and it seems like most of them have at least an early answer. Who will snag the fifth starter spot in Chris Capuano's absence is about the only thing left to determine. | Ryan Hatch: CC Sabathia's spring debut, Tanaka Time Part II, and the potential return of Brendan Ryan are all things to look out for this week. Another round of cuts will be coming as well. How long will guys like Bird be able to hang around?

New York Post | George King III: Even though Nathan Eovaldi carries an ugly record into his first season as a Yankee, his dominant outings this spring cannot be ignored. The run support he got with the Marlins was tragically low and Larry Rothschild has been working on a split-fingered fastball to help compliment the tremendous velocity.
