Yankees free agent and trade possibilities, AL Manager of the Year, and Sanchez up for the challenge of the pros.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Today's Knuckleball | Alex Smolokoff: Catching prospect Gary Sanchez has been on fire at the Arizona Fall League, and everyone around him is taking notice. In an interview, he also expressed his confidence that he is ready for the majors, a possibility that has to be considered legitimate with John Ryan Murphy now in Minnesota.

FOX Sports | Ken Rosenthal: The Yankees are one of five teams who Rosenthal thinks should make a serious run at free agent aces David Price and Zack Greinke. They certainly have the cash flow to do it, and with big contracts coming off the books after 2016, Hal Steinbrenner should definitely at least think about it.

YES Network | A.J. Hermann: With second base a question mark heading into 2016, should the Yankees look into trading for the Tigers' Ian Kinsler? He had another solid year in 2015 with a 113 OPS+ and his contract isn't that bad, so why not?

BBWAA: Joe Girardi finished fifth in AL Manager of the Year balloting. Although the award went to the upstart Rangers' Jeff Banister, the Yankees' skipper earned first place votes from Mel Antonen of SI.com and Bruce Levine of CBSChicago.com. Remarkably, it's the eighth time in Girardi's nine-year professional career that he has earned at least a third place vote for the award.
