Yankees vs. Athletics preview: California dreamin'

The Yankees are fresh-off a sweep of one of the best teams in Baseball after taking three games from the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium earlier this week. They've packed their bags and headed west to start a four-game series against the scuffling Athletics in Oakland. Now, this is where we all believe that the team SHOULD be able to win at least three games and keep their lead in the AL East. However, we all saw the great nightmare that was getting swept by the Rangers over the weekend. The Athletics are worse than the Rangers, and the Yankees can't afford another disappointing series against a bad team.

CC Sabathia gets the start tonight after a disastrous outing his last time out. The big left-hander has been all over the map so far in 2015, so the hope is that we'll get Good CC this time around. After such a good showing against a tough team in the Royals, the Yankees have to be dreaming of taking at least six of their next ten games against AL West opponents. That's a tough task, but they are capable of putting together a stretch like that to wash away the bad taste of losing 10 of 11.

Here's tonight's lineup:

The game starts at 10 pm. Groan accordingly.
