The Yankees return from their road trip with an overall successful run, going 5-4 during that stretch. Their only failure came at the very beginning, dropping all three games against the Oakland Athletics, the same team that they welcome to town now.
CC Sabathia gets the ball to start the series, and he’s searching for a decent outing. The veteran hasn’t eclipsed more than 4.1 innings over his last four starts, with an IL stint splitting them. Sabathia wasn’t a part of the Oakland series last week, so he’ll get a try at their lineup for the first time this season.
Brett Anderson will go for Oakland, and he’s given the A’s some fairly consistent results in 2019. Anderson has hovered around a 4 ERA for most of the season, going at least six innings in four of his last five starts.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EST. You can catch the action on YES, or stream it on mlb.tv or fubo.tv. You can also listen to the broadcast on WFAN 660/101.9 FM or WADO 1280.
We're back. Luke's back.
