Following a disappointing loss in the series opener to the Detroit Tigers, the Yankees will send their top pitcher to the mound looking to prevent a three-game losing streak. Luis Severino leads all of baseball with 17 wins this season, and is on pace to be the first Yankee to reach 20 wins since his teammate CC Sabathia did it back in 2010. Sounds like the right guy for the job.
The Tigers will counter with Jordan Zimmermann. Much like the Tigers, Zimmermann is far from his old form, pitching to a 4.38 ERA in 19 games, throwing just over 100 innings with 88 strikeouts. Mismatches like these are hard to come by, so the Yankees need to take advantage.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. The game will be on YES, and can be streamed via FOX Sports GO. For radio listeners, WFAN 660/101.9 FM and WADO 1280 have you covered.
Looking for a bounceback with Sevy on the bump.
