Have the constant rainouts this season messed up your routine Yankees fix? Well, don’t worry. Beginning today, the Yankees will play a stretch of 41 games in 41 days to make up all the lost time due to bad weather. This is obviously a grueling stretch logistically for the team, bu they had to catch up at some point.
The 41 game streak fittingly starts off with a doubleheader against Detroit, making up a game that was rained out way back on April 14th. The Yankees have recalled outfielder Clint Frazier for today as their 26th man, and he gets inserted right into the lineup in the seven slot at left field. Brett Gardner and Gary Sanchez will also sit out the first game of the doubleheader, though they could be available off the bench.
