The Yankees split their semi-doubleheader against the Nationals, and have now return to the Bronx to take on the Mariners. They will face Seattle for three games before traveling to Tampa Bay for the weekend series.
Aaron Boone is throwing out somewhat of a different lineup tonight, with Aaron Hicks leading off, Gleyber Torres hitting sixth, and Greg Bird behind him. Clint Frazier also gets the start batting ninth, with Brett Gardner still sitting out once again.
Domingo German takes the mound, but for how much longer will he be going out there? He’s been able to hold his own for now, but eventually the Yankees are going to need a more reliable option out there. Hopefully he can keep a surging Mariners team at bay for the Yankees to take another game. New York still holds the best record in baseball, but every win will count as they go through the gamut of consecutive games.
