In the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Draft, the Yankees took right-handed reliever Glenn Otto from Rice University. Otto served as a reliever for a majority of his three college seasons, however, many believe he could be a starter in the minors if he’s given the chance.
He’s dealt with some shoulder problems, causing some of his stuff to back up, and he’s struggled to consistently keep the ball over the plate. Despite the obvious red flags, there is no denying that Otto can strike people out, as evidenced by his 12.2 K/9 in his 2017 season.
