The Yankees take on the Twins again in the last series before the All-Star break. After sweeping them last time around you can be sure that New York aims to take them down again. They've demolished the Twins in recent years so it's very likely they will. Tonight's lineup is out, but it's missing Derek Jeter, who left his return game with tightness in his quad.

The Yankees have Brett Gardner and Ichiro Suzuki leading off, followed by Robinson Cano and Vernon Wells. Travis Hafner is still out of the lineup after fouling a ball off his foot in the batting cage. That seems to be the least of their injury concerns as Derek Jeter is missing, but is still listed on the roster. Zoilo Almonte has not hit well recently, but Lyle Overbay has been. After that the lineup takes a nosedive with Eduardo Nunez, Luis Cruz, and Chris Stewart.
The Yankees finally signed their first round draft pick Aaron Judge on the last day of the signing period. It looked like no movement was being made just two days ago and yet now we have another baby Yankee added to the mix. He ended up signing for just over slot value at $1.8 million. Hopedully he can get into the system quickly and start working his way up. He has work to do on his swing, but the power potential is there and hopefully it will all work out.
The Yankees also officially signed 36th round pick Nestor Cortes to a deal. He flew down to Tampa to throw a bullpen for the team and if they were impressed they would make an offer. Clearly Cortes impressed because now he's a Yankee.
