CBS Sports | Mike Axisa: Jasson Domínguez has been slowly working his was back to full strength since his return June 26th from Tommy John rehab and a subsequent oblique injury. As exciting as his debut cameo was last season, Brian Cashman threw some cold water on the hope that we might see him in the Bronx soon. The GM explained that there is “currently no lane for [the Yankees] to bring him [up].”
Even with Trent Grisham missing the last few games after getting hit on the hand by a pitch, the front office would prefer that Domínguez shake off the rust at Triple-A, where he is 7-for-47 with no homers and a 12 wRC+ in 12 games since returning from the oblique strain.
MLB.com | Bill Ladson: Marcus Stroman was in such a rut that Aaron Boone opted not to start him against the Angels, instead giving him a few extra days in between starts to sort out some mechanical issues. The main adjustment involved Stroman engaging his lower-half more during delivery and the tweak paid off. Stroman turned in one of his best starts of the summer, holding the Rangers to a run on four hits in five-plus innings on Sunday.
New York Daily News | Peter Sblendorio: With home runs in both games of the doubleheader against the Rangers on Saturday, Jazz Chisholm Jr. became the first player in franchise history to hit seven home runs in his first 12 games with the team. In addition to his contributions between the lines, Boone praised Chisholm’s “energy and kind of a different joy into the room that’s really blended in well with our guys.” Chisholm admitted that the short porch at Yankee Stadium tempted him to try to pull the ball too much, but that the adjustment that he and the hitting coaches made directly led to the pair of home runs on Saturday.
Finally, while not a full news item, Chris Kirschner provides some injury updates for a trio of Yankees pitchers:
On @MLBNetworkRadio, Brian Cashman said Lou Trivino will start a rehab assignment in the middle of next week.

Clarke Schmidt will start a rehab assignment around Aug. 22. “Maybe getting him on board at the latest around the second week of September, if not earlier.”
Cody…
Clarke Schmidt recently completed a 25-pitch live bullpen throwing all the pitches in his arsenal and has another scheduled for Wednesday. Depending on how that goes, Schmidt could then start a rehab assignment, with the 28-year-old eyeing a return to the big leagues before the end of August. While similarly encouraged by his progress, Cashman was a touch more circumspect, pegging the second week of September as a potential return date. Lou Trivino shouldn’t be too far behind, the reliever not having pitched yet this season after suffering setbacks during his Tommy John rehab. Cody Poteet is the farthest from return, recently being transferred to the 60-day IL with a triceps strain suffered in mid-June.
