We’re cruising into Tuesday after an extended weekend of football.

The first round of the NFL playoffs are all wrapped up, and if you’re a Giants fan you have to be satisfied with the results: both the Cowboys and Eagles got sent packing right away. And if you’re interested in New York teams currently in a playoff push, the Bills are alive and moving onto the Divisional round, so there’s something fun to follow for potentially a few more weeks until spring training arrives from around the corner. If you’re a Jets fan, understandably, this may be the opposite of what you want — our apologies in advance.

Back in the world of baseball, Matt has a pair of detailed history pieces to offer — first he’s got the trade history between the Yankees and the baseball Giants, and then he’ll be back to talk about Tony Lazzeri and his excellent play alongside some legends of the game building the first dynasties in pinstripes. Later, Peter will be around to go over the payroll flexibility left after the Marcus Stroman signing and whether the Yankees might still splurge for another arm.

Questions/Prompts:

1. Will the Yankees add any more significant payroll to the team, or will we just see minor-league invites from here on out?

2. How surprised are you that both Dallas and Philadelphia got booted out of the playoffs so quickly?
