Today on Pinstripe Alley - 1/15/24

A federal holiday at roughly the halfway point of January.

Jackie Robinson and Floyd Patterson with Wyatt Tee Walker

In the time since the Detroit Lions last won a playoff game, Roberto Kelly got traded for Paul O’Neill, the Yankees rose from the ashes to become a dynasty with Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and more, and Aaron Judge was born. It’s been a minute! Congrats to those fans.

Today on the site, it’s a reduced schedule, but Jake will discuss Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Marcus Stroman, Hal Steinbrenner, and the Yankees’ greater plans writ large this offseason and beyond. Matt will also jump into the wayback machine and remember a time when the Yankees added a couple ticks to Hall of Famer Bob Feller’s career ERA in the span of a single game in 1938. Those guys could really thump it — to say the least.

Questions/Prompts:

1. Who will win the rescheduled playoff game between the Bills and Steelers?

2. Have you had a favorite essay from our PSA’s Top 100 so far?
