The Yankees sprung to life this week, making a minor move in signing Luke Weaver to a major-league deal, and making a major move, inking Marcus Stroman to a two-year contract. While it’s not the move many of us expected coming into the winter, Stroman addresses a need in the rotation and gives the offseason a more complete feeling. Will Stroman’s addition prove to be the last of the Yankees’ major moves this winter, or do they have more up their sleeve? We’ve got about a month before pitchers and catchers report to find out.

On the site today, we’ll have even more analysis of the Stroman signing. Also, Josh remembers the life and career of Elston Howard, a huge figure in both Yankees and baseball history. Plus, Matt looks at former Yankees who are plying their trade in winter ball right now, while Noah gives us the latest entry in our Trade History series, this time looking at the Dodgers.

Questions/Prompts:

1. Where will Marcus Stroman rank in terms of pitching WAR on the Yankees’ staff in 2024?

2. Who wins today’s NFL Wild Card Games?
