It’s Sunday once again, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! As the days get shorter, the nights get longer, and the 2023 Yankees season shrinks further into the rearview mirror, but still we stand guard, following our favorite Yankees heroes — on social media, that is. Let’s get started!

Sevy thanks the fans

Earlier this week, former Yankees pitcher Luis Severino signed a one-year, $13 million deal with the cross-town Mets. Once a top prospect, then one of the league’s best pitchers, Sevy missed almost three full seasons due to injury, and hasn’t quite looked the same ever since. Despite his poor performance, the right-hander had been a fan favorite in the Bronx for years, and his big strikeout scream is iconic.

Thanks for the memories, Sevy, and best of luck in Queens. We’ll be rooting for you.

Gerrit giving up triples

From February through October, the phrase “Gerrit Cole surrendered a triple” is a very bad thing. When the batter is Cole’s son, his defense his wife Amy, and the field the wet sands at the beach, the scene becomes decidedly adorable.

CC at the Garden

The Knicks had some more home games this week, which means we get another edition of “which Bomber had courtside seats?” This time, it’s former ace and future Hall of Famer CC Sabathia.

Gleyber and Gio together again

In the latest episode of Gleyber Torres’ winter series, he trains alongside former Yankee Gio Urshela. I wish we had a mulligan on that trade.

Chances to meet Yankees

Every once in a while, we get advanced notice on social media of opportunities to meet our favorite Yankees. In the upcoming weeks, Bernie Williams and Jose Trevino will be signing autographs at Woodbridge Brewing Company and somewhere on the Jersey shore.
