The holiday leftovers have officially run out in my own household, as sign as any that the remaining few days of 2023 should hurry up and get on with it. If you prepared a bigger feast than congratulations on having something to hold you off, but my New Year’s countdown has officially started and you’re welcome to join. There’ll be plenty of moves left to ponder over once the ball drops, so don’t worry about running out of things to discuss until spring.

Speaking of things to discuss, let’s rundown the list of what we’ve got in store for today. Noah leads off with the first entry in this year’s Yankees book club, and Matt follows with a look at some of the most impressive career debut games in Yankees history. Sam enshrines fan favorite Paul O’Neill into our Top 100 Yankees at the 39th spot, Josh jumps into the history books on a time period where MLB could’ve saved itself the headache it has now concerning the steroid era, and Malachi laments the status of the current MLB divisions to close us out.

1. If the Yankees opt to add some firepower to their bullpen, should Clay Holmes still be the closer? Or should they aim for someone who could supersede him?

2. Any fun plans for New Year’s Eve in the works?
