We head to the Saturday before Christmas.

MLB: New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve had a full day to process the crushing end to the Yoshinobu Yamamoto sweepstakes, and the result still stings. Having been spurned, the Yankees surely have something still up their sleeves; it would be odd to see them try to invest $300 million into a roster weak spot, only to turn around and do nothing once Plan A fell through. We’ll have to just wait and see what they get up to, and whether they’ll enact those plans during the holidays, or if they’ll wait until the new year to continue improving the team.

On the site today, Kunj writes on the totality of the Yoshinobu Yamamoto deal. Also, we see a well-liked player and broadcaster slide in at number 43 on our Top 100, while Peter discusses Will Warren in detail, as it looks like the prospect is likely to play a role with the major league club next season.

2. Who will be the next big free agent domino to fall?
