Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a round of meetings with the New York teams, first sitting down for a meal with Steve Cohen and a contingency of Mets brass, before heading crosstown to talk with the Yankees for a second meeting. Both sit downs were at the request of Yamamoto, so while we’re not getting any concrete details of the negotiations perhaps we’re in the stage where offers are getting compared and teams are getting told what number they have to beat. Regardless, the market seems to be heating up and hopefully we’ll get some clarity on where he’s going soon.
It’s a quiet Monday for us as we start the week back up. Malachi starts us off with a discussion about how the Yankees should replenish their high minors pitching with some stable vets after trading away so many of their prospects over the last couple of years. Afterwards, Sam goes over the latest Top 100 Yankee, a pitcher from the original 1920s Yankees teams that got the championships rolling — Waite Hoyt.
1. What do you make of yesterday’s Yamamoto rumblings?
2. Have any holiday plans coming up?
