November is nearly over.

New York Yankees
Jake Gibbs & Mel Stottlemyre

If I may detour from baseball talk for a hot minute, it is very amusing to me that Arkansas is reportedly hiring former coach Bobby Petrino as an offensive coordinator. This would be like if Joe Girardi suddenly joined Aaron Boone’s coaching staff. The comp is not exactly 1:1 since the current Arkansas coach didn’t directly replace Petrino, but still! Little weird, and that’s not even getting into everything that comes with Bobby Petrino.

Anyway, back in our site’s sport, we’ll start off with a pair of target posts, as Andrés discusses former Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Malachi considers current Jays star Bo Bichette. The former is a free agent and the latter is very much on Toronto, but since they’ve taken calls on him, it never hurts to at least ruminate on the possibility. Later on, Matt dips back to the late ‘90s dynasty for our next Top 100 Yankee and Peter grades catcher Austin Wells’ ascendant 2023.

Questions/Prompts:

1. What do you think are the odds that Juan Soto is still a Padre by Opening Day?

2. Do you have memories of Mel Stottlemyre the pitcher or only the pitching coach?
