Past time to modify or ditch the pitcher won-lost stat!

Nestor Cortes made the case about as well as it can be made today. Eight plus innings of no-hit pitching, and a reliever who gets 2 batters out gets the W. The stat has become embarrassing to baseball. It is also based on a fundamental misunderstanding of baseball and what makes team sports great. Pitchers do not win and lose games; teams win and lose games. That’s why Aaron Judge could hit 3 HRs and drive in 7 RBIs in a game, but no official stat would give him credit for "the win." Happy to hear other views.
