Oh what I wouldn’t give to go back to the good vibes of just two weeks ago. Another patented 2021 Yankees slump is upon us, and is showing no sign of ceasing. Perhaps the only solace is that these same Yankees have shown us time and again that their hot and cold runs will start and stop seemingly without reason or warning. As awful as they’ve been for the past week-plus, there’s no telling whether today is the day they decide to start another hot streak.
On the site, Erin touches on Brian Cashman’s approach to acquiring pitchers via trade, Joe discusses how the Yankees have fallen apart with their most important players struggling or hurt, Dan brings us up to speed on the season of pitching prospect Randy Vasquez, and Andrew and guest co-host Matt Provenzano provide the latest episode of the PSA podcast.

1. Does José Berríos vs. Néstor Cortes Jr. turn into a pitchers’ duel?
2. DJ LeMahieu projects to finish 2021 with a shade under three fWAR on the season. If he finished with the same total every year for his entire six-year contract, would you be underwhelmed, or satisfied?
