He has now played a full season worth of games, including 2020 and he is struggling to hit .250, and likely won't reach 10 homers in 2021. He doesn't get on base or play good defense. So the obvious question now is, should he be a starter? Would it be better to start Gio at short and Odor at 3rd?
Personally, I think Boone and Cashman should call Torres and Wade (or Velazquez) into the office and tell them they are going to platoon the rest of the way. Whoever plays better down the stretch has the inside track to start in 2021. Even if the other two can't hit, at least they are a defensive improvement.
