We’re almost at the end of the road in this bonkers 2021 season. After the Yankees face the Blue Jays tonight, just one series remains in the regular season. Will there be Yankees baseball beyond Sunday? That remains to be seen, but there’s certainly reason for optimism, even after an annoying loss last night with Gerrit Cole on the bump. Yes, Robbie Ray is pitching tonight for Toronto in the rubber match, but this lineup is also pretty darn good, too. Just keep winning and the logistics will work themselves out.

Today on the site, Jon will interview the author of a new book about Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, Erin will compare Giancarlo Stanton’s hot streak to other scalding stretches of his excellent career, and Dan will talk Oswaldo Cabrera’s Triple-A power surge. Later on, Andrés will ponder if Gleyber Torres is truly back or not, and Jesse will discuss how Stanton and Aaron Judge’s collective health has been pivotal to the 2021 season staying alive.

Fun Questions:

1. How early would you remove Corey Kluber tonight against Toronto even if he seems to be rolling?

2. How badly did Devin Williams torpedo the Brewers’ pennant hopes with his embarrassing injury?
