The Yankees have two significant homestands left on their schedule, and one of them starts tonight when the Orioles roll into town. Baltimore has been dealt a truly rough hand since the last time they were in the Bronx — they lost 19 game in a row, somehow obliterated the Angels, and then went right back to losing. That slide was bad enough to put them behind (ahead of?) the Arizona Diamondbacks for the worst record in baseball. The Diamondbacks themselves were at one point on pace to be one of the worst teams in MLB history, and even though they’ve picked up some wins since then that’s still not a team you want to be worse than. This is a team the Yankees need to beat, and beat convincingly.
Peter will provide the series preview on Baltimore to start the day off, and Erin follows up with a look into why Jameson Taillon has regressed back to his early-season form. Esteban examines Gary Sánchez’s power trough over the past couple of months, Jesse compares the merits and demerits that Aaron Boone has had this season, and I’ll answer your latest mailbag questions later on.
