Ask Pinstripe Alley: Yankees mailbag questions request

The final regular season edition of the mailbag awaits your input.

Ask Pinstripe Alley

Folks, we are down to the wire. By this time next week we will know for certain whether the Yankees got into the postseason, and whether they’ll be hosting or traveling to the Wild Card Game. It’s almost crazy to think that this regular season is just now coming to a close, since it’s felt like the season has been doomed about five different times — and it’s also felt like the Yankees could be among the World Series favorites two or three times. Hopefully, in a week’s time the latter will add another tally to its mark.

Much has been said and pondered about this team, and honestly there are still so many things to question. Most of the answers will come in a month’s time or less, but until then let’s focus in on some stuff we can deal with now. How confident should the team be in their starting rotation entering postseason play? How will having to play in the Wild Card Game impact their chances of going deep into October? Are the Blue Jays or the Red Sox a better opponent to draw for a win-or-go-home game? If you’ve got questions like these, or any other concerns, be sure to send them in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.

Answers will run on Friday morning. All questions received by the night of September 30th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com. Also, a small note: while it’s helpful to have a variety of questions come in every week, many of you have been concerned about offseason matters lately. There isn’t much to infer anymore after the deadline moves that the team made, so these kinds of questions would be better saved for when the team has no more games left to be played and rumors/leaks start to come out.
