A sweep in Fenway is on the menu.

Saturday’s action was more dramatic than Friday, but the result was the same — the Yankees beat the Red Sox in Fenway in a crucial match. Now the Bombers are poised to open this final stretch with a sweep of their archrivals, and give themselves a cushion in the Wild Card standings heading into Toronto. Should they do so, a series win there would all but line them up for a postseason berth. It’s as close to a make-or-brake situation as possible, and the Yankees are hot entering it.

We’ve got a lot for you to look over before any of that kicks off, though. Matt leads off with a look into random former Yankees who wound up having a big impact on future postseasons, and Estevão provides the latest playoff race recap. John breaks down Eduardo Rodríguez’s performance against the Yankees this season ahead of his start tonight, Jesse hones in on three Yankees that have been major contributors during this stretch run, Erica gives one last look into the Cy Young race before the season ends, and Joe brings us the latest social media spotlight.
