The Orioles delivered one last sucker punch to the Yankees’ season, taking away another win when most clubs dismantle them with little effort. There’s little use dwelling on it at this point since the season series is spoken for at last, but it’ll surely be something to look back on regardless of how the rest of the year plays out.
Anyways, the Yankees will have to regroup quick, heading back home for one more homestand prior to the season finale against Tampa. It starts off with a series against Cleveland, who has been so-so this year and can’t be overlooked, which means the Yankees will have their hands more than full if their latest trends hold. There’s no room for errors at this point, so even though a series win would normally be a successful venture any loss will weigh heavy on the club. Let’s see if the Bombers have one more upswing in their wild season-long roller-coaster coming up.
On the site, Peter will preview the matchup against Cleveland, and then John takes a look at the connection between the Yankees and Broadway in honor of the latter’s re-opening. Esteban kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month with a tribute to Luis Arroyo, Andrés argues that Chad Green needs to get used a little less, and I’ll answer some questions out of the mailbag.
