A win against the Orioles counts as much as a win against a major league baseball team. The Yankees have been slow to realize that this season, gifting their Baltimore rivals a number of games throughout the year, but they at least got this latest three-game set off to a good start. They’ve strung a couple of wins in a row, offering the slightest glimmer of hope that just maybe, they’ve gotten themselves together.

Ahead of tonight’s game, check out the newest episode of the PSA podcast, Erin’s rumination on the failure of some of the Baby Bombers to transition into dependable vets, Esteban’s commentary on Brett Gardner’s consistently hot Septembers, and a rumination from Kunj on the matter of Masahiro Tanaka.

Fun Questions:

1. If you could go back in time to when the Yankees were 41-41 and tell yourself where the Yankees would be now, do you think you’d have been pleased, or still frustrated?

2. Are you more surprised that the Giants are still in first place in the NL West, or that the Padres are out of a playoff spot?
