The Yanks are on a roll, and the standings are getting clumped up with plenty of teams within striking distance. The division is still solidly in Tampa’s hands at the moment, but the sudden slide from Boston has opened the possibility of New York laying claim to the top wild card spot and challenging for the top spot in the East.
Of course, while the team seems to be shaping up at last, there are still some hurdles to clear. Namely, while the Red Sox are doing them a favor by slumping significantly of late, they need to prove that they can beat their rivals convincingly before the path to the top can open up. Will the next meeting between the historic foes be the one to flip the narrative on this season? Can the upcoming series against the White Sox serve as a proper litmus test for the team? If you’ve got questions like these, or any other concerns, be sure to send them in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday morning. All questions received by the night of August 12th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
