New York Yankees vs. Atlanta Braves: Jordan Montgomery vs. Huascar Ynoa

Can the Yankees get their win streak to double digits against a similarly hot Atlanta team?

After an unplanned off day, the Yankees are back tonight and hopefully ready to extend their nine-game win streak.

Three wins over the Twins got the streak on the verge of double digits before Hurricane Henri caused the postponement of the series finale. Now, they head to Atlanta where another team on a nine-game win streak awaits. The Braves have also been on fire, going 16-3 in August and opening up a comfortable lead in the NL East. No matter what happens tonight, someone is going to have won ten-straight after the final out is recorded.

The Yankees will send Jordan Montgomery to the mound to try and get that win. This will be Montgomery’s second start since returning from the COVID-IL, having allowed three runs in 4.2 inning against the Red Sox last Tuesday.

With no DH, the Yankees had some interesting lineup decisions to make. At last in the first game, they’ve gone with the large human outfield, and Anthony Rizzo at first base, with the red hot Luke Voit missing out.

Atlanta’s starter, Huascar Ynoa, will also be making his second start since returning from an IL stint, although his longer and for a hand fracture. He threw 5.1 shutout inning in his comeback outing, and has been impressive all season when he has been able to take the mound.

Go Yankees, go baseball.
