The Yankees return to action in Atlanta.

Due to Hurricane Henri, the Yankees were rained out well in advance of yesterday’s schedule game against the Twins, so they got to enjoy a nice, relaxing day in wake of their nine-game winning streak. They’ll try to push it to 10 days today in Atlanta, where they’ll face the suddenly NL East-leading Braves. Atlanta hasn’t been able to enjoy the incredible work of Ronald Acuña Jr. since the All-Star break, but a key midseason makeover in addition to the collapses of the Phillies and Mets have allowed them to soar to the division lead. They should not be taken lightly. Also, I’ll be in attendance, so hopefully they don’t embarrass me.

Today on the site, Matt will preview the two-game set against Atlanta, Jesse will examine the surplus depth of the offense, and Emma will discuss Luke Voit’s resurgence. Later, Ryan will put out the weekly mailbag question prompt.
