Since baseball shut down in March of last year, we have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media. Did you know that Andrew Velazquez is from the Bronx?! All jokes aside, “Squid” has brought an awesome energy to the Yankees lineup and has a cool backstory behind him. He’s played a great defensive shortstop and just hit his first major league home run on Saturday. He’s also become an instant fan favorite among the fanbase. Luis Gil celebrates big start to big league career
The first pitcher in the modern era to toss three straight scoreless outings to start a career is none other than Yankees rookie Luis Gil. He’s been a huge boost to the rotation, especially with the injuries to the starting five. Gil was not necessarily supposed to be a big piece this early in his career, but nonetheless, he’s been shoving.
CC Sabathia throws out first pitch in Cleveland
In his return to Cleveland, former Yankee CC Sabathia threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game to Cleveland’s mascot. The lefty delivered a strike and looked good! He even commented on the post saying that his “arm is coming back.” How about another playoff run, CC?
