Since baseball shut down in March of last year, we have kept you posted on what the Yankees have been up to on social media. Although baseball is getting back to normal, it’s still fun to check in our favorite players and Yankee figures, so we will continue to do so throughout 2021. Here’s your weekly update on what your favorite Yankees have been doing on social media!
The Yankees admire the Field of Dreams site
The Yankees and White Sox just played in what many are considering the “Game of the Year” during the first-ever major league game played in Iowa. The game had everything from corn fields, to throwback uniforms, to drama, to a crazy ninth inning and a walk-off home run. While the Yankees lost the matchup, the players were able to get an experience of a lifetime. Below are some pictures and videos of what some Yankees posted. Luke Voit showed us what it looked like from the batters box, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton took pictures in the corn maze, and Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery posed together while awaiting approval to come off of the COVID IL.
Lucas Luetge’s first MLB start
The Yankees have been short on starters as of late due to COVID positives and injuries. Because of that, New York needed to get creative. Lucas Luetge started against the Royals en route to a 5-3 Yankees victory. Luetge went two innings, allowing just one run and recorded a strikeout. He reflected on his first start of his major league career on Twitter.
I haven’t started a game since 2011. Never could of guessed that my next one would be 10 years later for the @Yankees Today’s one of those days I’ll always remember. #baseball #mlb #yankees #nevergiveup #backtothepen pic.twitter.com/JxflF5wHRp
