The first two games of this series have been weird ones. On Monday, the Yankees blew four separate saves over the course of the last couple innings before finally pulling out a win in the 11th inning. Yesterday, they committed four errors in an 8-4 loss. At least based on the Yankees’ lineup, things aren’t necessarily going to get any more normal today.
With the Yankees still dealing with rotation injuries, they are again having to rely on a bullpen game. Plus with the weirdness of the last two days, the options in the bullpen are a little limited. This all means that Lucas Luetge will be today’s starting pitcher for the Yankees.
Besides that, Rob Brantly is in at catcher, as it’s a day game after a night game. The lineup is general is, uh, interesting.
As for Kansas City, Brady Singer will get the ball for the Royals. The former top-100 prospect isn’t having the best sophomore season, and allowed two runs in 3.2 innings when these two teams played in New York back in June.
Go Yankees, go baseball.
