I think it’s fair to say that the baseball that’s been played in Kansas City so far this week has been of the weird variety. Monday’s historic blown save bonanza was followed up with another barnburner of a game that did not leave the Yankee bullpen in great shape. That’s especially harmful to today’s efforts, since it looks like the Yankees will be bullpenning their way through the finale of this series. A win would smooth over a lot of the absurdity that’s gone on during the road trip already, but it’s going to be an uphill battle to get there.

Today we’ve got a ton of pitching analysis to start you off with. Erin breaks down how Jameson Taillon’s hot streak may have been influenced by some curveball tips from Gerrit Cole, and Josh looks into where Cole’s Cy Young odds stand after a topsy-turvy month. Dan highlights a handful of lowkey moves that the Yankees made during the offseason and how they’ve helped keep the season afloat, while Jesse examines whether the Yankees have become too patient at the plate or not. After the game, Matt takes inspiration from the Field of Dreams game to suggest some other movies the Yankees can turn into real life scenarios.

1. Will we see a bullpen game again after today at any point this season?

2. Do we see a position player pitch an inning today?
