Pinstripe Alley Podcast Ep. 133: Everything Sucks

The Yankees lost a whole bunch of games, their best pitchers imploded, Hal Steinbrenner faced the media, and I went to the beach. It’s a fun catch-up!

As it turns out, I picked a good week to go to the beach. Since our last podcast, the Yankees were embarrassed by the Red Sox, Angels, and Mets in order, and their best pitchers (Gerrit Cole and Aroldis Chapman) looked more suspect than ever. Isn’t chaos great?

We caught up on this dismal 2-7 stretch of Yankees baseball that only further clouded the potential playoff picture. Fenway losses, Chapman meltdowns, and glum press conferences were all too frequent. Now, it’s not just Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman trying to put on a brave face, it’s also Hal Steinbrenner, who addressed the media after Wednesday night’s ninth-inning disaster. Great stuff.

Other topics included Tim Locastro, the All-Star selections (sans Gary Sánchez), the dreadful pitching staff, and — on a better note — the “Meet a Baby Bomber” segment on Luis Medina & Max Burt, and our Yankee/Mitre of the Week.
