Well, we’re officially past the halfway marker for the season, and the Yankees are a game up from when they started at 0-0. A lot has happened to get to this point, most of it frustrating, but looking back at it all the time is pointless. The Yankees now face a west coast trip to close out the pre-All-Star Game schedule, and any momentum they could find in the next week or so will be crucial for the front office to decide what they need to do with this team.
To say there’s a lot left to question about this team is an understatement. Can Gerrit Cole reclaim his dominant form post-Spider Tack ban? Will Aroldis Chapman lose the closer’s role if he can’t rebound soon? Should the bullpen’s regression be expected, or is it connected to the substance crackdown as well? If you’ve got questions like these, or any other concerns, send them in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday morning. All questions received by the night of July 8th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
