Luke Voit & Anthony Rizzo In Same Lineup

When the news broke last evening that the Yankees were finalizing a deal with the Cubs for Anthony Rizzo, the general consensus seemed to be that Luke Voit's days in Pinstripes were numbered. I too jumped on this bandwagon initially, thinking that Voit could be on his way to Colorado with Gleyber Torres for another blockbuster, bringing back Trevor Story and Jon Gray.

Then I got to thinking about the last FanPost I wrote, in which I argued that it was time for the Yankees to throw caution to the wind and run Giancarlo Stanton out in left field until his wheels fall off. If they were to do this, Voit could slide in to the DH role, leaving us with the following lineup:

2B: DJ Lemahieu (R)

1B: Anthony Rizzo (L)

RF: Aaron Judge (R)

C: Gary Sanchez (R)

CF: Joey Gallo (L)

LF: Giancarlo Stanton (R)

DH: Luke Voit (R)

3B: Gio Urshela (R)

SS: Gleyber Torres (R)

Imagine this lineup with effective versions of Gerrit Cole, Corey Kluber and Luis Severino at the top of the rotation?

This is the first time I've been excited about this team since the first week of the season!
