Thursday’s loss to the Red Sox was the perfect example of an opportunity being flipped on its head — a narrow, but needed, win was in the Yankees’ grasps until it was time to secure it, and they fumbled it. Friday was more of the lackluster variety of losses, another performance where things never really get going and the game slowly goes over to the opponent. Both hurt, and both are particularly crushing to have happened against a team that the Yankees simply need to perform against asap if they want to have any real chance this year.
The ship has to sail, regardless of the waters its in, and we’ll sail alongside it. Today on the site we’ve got Jon looking into how Luis Cessa has finally proven his worth in the ‘pen, while Peter examines Richard Rodríguez’s case to be acquired at the deadline. Kevin puts things into perspective on how we ended up with Rougned Odor as a vital part of the lineup, and Matt goes back to highlight some former Yankees who competed in the Olympics.
