Well, we’ve hit another unfortunate historic moment — the Red Sox have won seven consecutive games against the Yanks to start the season, their biggest run of dominance in The Rivalry since 2009. Comparing that scenario to then is a bit of cruel joke — the ‘09 team was loaded and competing well outside of their struggles against Boston, which they eventually fixed and won most of their matchups in the second half. This year’s team has been playing mediocre ball for nearly four months now, and will have a massive uphill battle to mirror their predecessors.
Things could clearly stand to get better, and fast. In that vein of thought, Josh has a trade target on Trevor Story today, and Andrés looks into the possibility of needing to trade for a first baseman with Luke Voit down once again.
