If you said before the Yankees left the Bronx that they would win both of their series against the Mariners and Astros, pretty much everyone would be satisfied with that. The team has responded, at least for the moment, and has won some critical games to keep themselves afloat. The Yankees had the Mariners on the ropes in their last series before going back into a coma with the chance to sweep, however, and they’ve similarly been on Houston’s throat in this series. A sweep would be a significant improvement, especially against one of the better teams in baseball. We’ll see if they can get it done today.
Today we’re going to be very busy on the site — the MLB Draft kicks off tonight! Andrew has a primer on how it’ll be unfolding for the next few days, and we’ll have the news later tonight when the Yanks take their first-round pick. Before then, Josh will look into Max Scherzer as an all-in trade target, and Joe has the latest social media spotlight.

Fun Questions:
1. Would the league be better off allowing draft picks to be traded?
2. Brian Cashman recently said that the direction of the team’s moves for the trade deadline will be decided during or immediately after the break. So pick a camp right now: all-in, full sell, or retool?
