Normally, I would be highlighting that a day off after the kind of stretch that the Yankees have just played should be a boon for the team. Honestly though, the biggest benefit of the travel day was that I didn’t have to think about the problems going on with this team for 24 hours. My mental is now reset, and hopefully the Yanks did the same, because they need to pick up the pace beginning with this road trip to their home away from home — Minnesota.
Before that kicks off, we’ve got a bundle of content for you. The podcast returns and attempts to grapple with the last week of action, while Dan recaps the last week in the minors and highlights some key performers. Peter will preview the Minnesota series (featuring some old friends), Andrew offers an homage to the ‘98 Yanks, and Josh opines that the team isn’t truly awful, but in a worse state — mediocre. Finally, Jon wraps things up by arguing for the Yankees to look for some opportunities to steal bases in the hopes of sparking something offensively.
