It’s been a very bad weekend for the Yankees, coming into tonight’s primetime showdown with the Red Sox having lost three straight. A lot is going wrong with the club, but the only way to dig out of a hole is to start right now, and the team can try and get back on the right track tonight with a win on Sunday Night Baseball.
Domingo Germán gets the ball, having a solid season for himself including a current five-start run where he’s managed a 2.40 ERA, and the Yankees have won four of those five starts. He’s faced high-octane offenses already this year, with two starts each against Tampa and Toronto, as well as one against Houston, so navigating a tough Boston lineup should be a familiar feeling for the righthander.
The game’s on ESPN tonight. I don’t like it, you don’t like it; let’s just try and get through this with a win, okay?
